May 4, 2023 marks a very special day for employees from Florida businesses and nonprofits. Teams from all across Florida will gather in Orlando for a 28-year tradition.
What’s so special about May 4th? The SimplyIOA Corporate 5K presented by Key HR, of course!
Held annually, the 5K is a fundraising event exclusively for Florida’s corporate community to promote camaraderie, friendly competition, and celebration with coworkers. Since 1995, Insurance Office of America, the parent company of SimplyIOA, has been a proud sponsor of this event. However, SimplyIOA is honored to take over as the presenting sponsor.

1. There are plenty of reasons for your organization to join.
If your Florida corporation or nonprofit is looking for a powerful way to increase camaraderie, there’s nothing like working together towards a common goal. Training and working as a team to accomplish a common health goal is an even more compelling way to bring your organization’s employees together.
What’s more: your teams across the United States can join in the fun too! The Virtual 5K event is available to those employees who want to join from afar.
2. Create an annual tradition with your team.
Annual runs aren’t just a one-time event; they become an annual tradition for your company and your team. Employees will look forward to the race each year, foster healthy competition, and work hard to improve.
At SimplyIOA and IOA, we love our annual race tradition: we’ll all leave our office by 3pm to get to Lake Eola. Then, we meet up at our tent in the Sponsor Gold Zone to get ready, have dinner, take our team picture, and get ready to run.
3. Fundraise for a worthy cause.
Every quarter, our organization donates $5,000 to a charity hand-selected by our employees. The SimplyIOA Corporate 5K takes our mission to give back even further.
We’re proud to fundraise and make donations to Second Harvest Food Bank. Thanks to the 2021 SimplyIOA Corporate 5K, an incredible 65,000 meals were donated to the incredible organization to feed hungry families across Central Florida.
This year, our goal is to donate 150,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank. Donations can be made between now and race day.
4. Contests make for even more fun.
The SimplyIOA Corporate 5K doesn’t start with training and end with a 5K and donations to a worthy cause. Contests along the way and on race day will boost your team’s creativity and team spirit.
Contests for the Corporate 5K include: Track Shack T-Shirt Design Contest, Team Spirit Award presented by SimplyIOA, and the Top Fundraiser Spoon Award.
